INTRODUCTION TO KEYBOARDING FOR SENIORS (AND OTHERS)
     Learn correct hand/finger positions and improve touch typing skills.  The class is self paced with additional time for practice.
Instructor:  M. Cleminson
 
Daily: August 21, 22, 25, 26 & 27, 2008  - 9am - 11 am with an additional hour of practice from 11am to noon.
Space limited to 9 students
 
TUITION: Age 60 yrs and over $30.00- under 60 and non Berkeley County residents $40.00.

BASIC BEGINNERS WINDOWS XP
     This course is a basic introduction to the use of computers.  Students will learn basic computer vocabulary and how to utilize the desktop and menues.  Additionally, they will learn to use a mouse correctly, customize Windows and spend a few hours learning about e-mail.  Student should have a computer at home and a basic knowledge of the computer keyboard.  No textbook is required.

MICROSOFT WORD 2003 (and earlier versions)

     A basic introduction to Microsoft Word.  This course is recommended for those with little or no knowledge of word processing.  Students should have a home computer with Microsoft Word installed as well as basic keyboarding and computer skills.  No textbook is required.

INTERNET XP AND E-MAIL

 

     This is an introductory course in the use of the Internet and E-Mail.  It will include setting up new e-mail accounts, using folders, searching the internet, and customizing Internet Explorer.  A basic knowldedge of computers including use of a mouse and keyboarding are required for this class.  No textbook is required.

Wednesdays October 8 and 15 - 9:00 am to 3:00 pm each day

INTERMEDIATE WINDOWS XP

 

     This class is designed to help the more advanced user learn to control adware, spyware and viruses.  Additional emphasis is placed on organizing files and folders, cleaning out old files, and improving computer speed.  Time will be spent on the correct way to install and uninstall programs, share digital photos, understand system restore as well as lots of tips and tricks and advice on obtaining and using free legal software.  No textbook is required.

Repeat - Tuesday November 18 and Monday November 24 - 9:30 am to 3:00 pm

Repeat - Thursday December 11 and Tuesday December 16 - 9:30 am to 3:00 pm

PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS 2

 

     A basic course in Adobe Photoshop with an emphasis on cloning, imaging, resizing, layering, airbrushing, and cropping.  Basic computer skills are a prequisite to being successful in this class.  Textbook available from instructor for an additional fee.
